My New LP “Oshikiri Coated” was inspired by Love . Jikume
2020 wasn’t so bad after all despite it being Corona virus Ravaged year, Every sector of the Nigerian economy was affected and the music industry wasn’t left out.
The future of the Nigerian music industry looked bleak after the virus. Shows and tours were cancelled; songs and album release dates were put on hold. The world being in a state of unrest didn’t seem like a suitable time to release music.
However some artistes were not deterred by this and found appropriate ways to record and share their music. Some released songs in direct response to the tragedies taking place in the world, while others decided to share music that can comfort their fans looking for a temporary escape from the never-ending tragedies.
As the year progressed , we’ve seen artists like the Omah Lay, Oxlade, Chike, Starboy Terri, and many others rise to the top with outstanding projects that have rocked the Nigerian music scene since they were released, It has indeed been a year of EP’s and Albums , , with a lot of ground breaking full body works from our stars.
The ever charismatic Port Harcourt Born African Songstress Oniso Jikume (Oshikiri) wasn’t going to be left out , the Afro-Pop/ Afro-Soul premiered her latest body work tagged
, a project she says was inspired by love , Oshikiri Coated was produced by Akeem Da Beat and section man , and was released on the 18th Sept, 2020 which was also her birthday
The Body work Is an 8 tracks LP, with a lot of soothing vibes and the full afro centric sound Jikume is known for.
